136 [lbo-talk] The Institute for Counter-Terrorism replies to B'Tselem report .... -- rank: 1000
Hi all, Not sure if anyone is reading this thread, as there was no discussion around it, but since my friend (who is a professor of international law in Europe and works in International and human rights law) made some comments on what Don Radlauer of the Institute for Counter-Terrorism was arguing in the other emails in this thread, I thought to offer it up to those who are interested. Bryan --------------------- In general, you have raised pretty much of the relevant issues, so I just want to ...

137 [lbo-talk] The Institute for Counter-Terrorism replies to B'Tselem report on Palestinian casualties during Operation Cast Lead: Any military age Palestinian man is a legitimate target during ongoing military operations... -- rank: 1000
Interestingly, Don Radlauer, the head researcher at the The Institute for Counter-Terrorism that I commented on, somehow came upon my lbo-talk email and answered me, so in all fairness I attach his reply below (and then after it, my reply to his reply...which he hasn't answered yet). 140 [lbo-talk] vacating; therefore, in need of fiction -- rank: 1000
But what would definitely be a worthy read is Blindsight by Peter Watts, or anything by him, and while I would say go ahead and purchase the book, if you would like to check it out, Peter has been so kind as to put it up online, along with all his other books (including his quite good Rifters 'trilogy' ) at: http://www.rifters.com/real/shorts.htm

Yah, I am in the midst of reading "Terror"... happened upon it by chance when I found it in hardcover at a garage sale for a buck a few weeks ago... Good read so far. 143 [lbo-talk] A Letter From the Nebraska Republi..er..Democratic Party -- rank: 1000
From: http://www.thedarkstuff.com/2009/08/letter-from-nebraska.html The message was sent to all registered Dems in the state, and it was sent at the direction of Senator Ben Nelson. The friendly note essentially tells liberals to back off attacking Nelson over his obstruction of health care reform, and to continue to support Nelson. Here are some choice sections (emphasis mine): "It's true that Sen. Nelson is not a lockstep Democrat, which makes perfect sense because Nebraska is not a locks ...

146 [lbo-talk] Feeling the Hate in Tel Aviv -- rank: 1000
Yah, there are private Christian schools in Israel, run by churches (interestingly, in many of them, a good percentage to majority are Muslim students), and I know of at least one Muslim school in the north for sure, and I would surmise that there are more.
