46 [lbo-talk] 12%, plus -- rank: 1000
What about gold investing? I was told by someone who is trying to get me to buy gold bricks that gold has increased 30% a year for about 6 years now. He claims inflation is at about 11%. Is anyone buying gold or have any insights on that one? 50 [lbo-talk] U.S. split on "socialized medicine": poll -- rank: 1000
Senator Sheila Kuehl in CA passed a single payer plan through both houses of the state legislature and Ahnold vetoed it. It's still kicking though. 55 [lbo-talk] Chris is going to California -- rank: 1000
Watch out for the crazy drivers on their cell phones that don't even look when they make turns. Driving here is one of the most dangerous aspects of coming here. Public transit is average but certainly could be much better. What can I say, its an auto culture. Just watch how many single persons are driving huge huge vehicles they don't need but are on some twisted power trip. It is nauseating. 57 [lbo-talk] HRC: sick sick sick -- rank: 1000
See this and other original stories about HRC: Robert Scheer on Hillary Obliterating Iran " Clinton Threatens to Obliterate Iran" -- How proud the Clintonistas must be. They have learned how to rival what Hillary once termed the vast right-wing conspiracy in the effort to destroy a viable Democratic leader who dares to stand in the way of their ambitions. Sen. Clinton s eminently sensible and centrist to a fault opponent is now viewed as weak and even vaguely unpatriotic becau ...

60 [lbo-talk] (no subject) -- rank: 1000
I can guarantee you that disabled people on the waiting list have suffered tremendously from the immigrants coming in and buying their way to the top of the list. It is just appalling. We can't even keep a housing program from being corrupted by money and greed inside these bureaucracies. It just makes one want to give up on activism. The monied run rings around us. The Russian mafia,, the Armenian mafia are very real here in this city. Marta From the Los Angeles Times A struggle to g ...
