1309 MediCal scams -- rank: 1000
When Pete Wilson was governor, his tactic to control rising MediCal costs was to cut the budget - and harm the poor needing medical services. Now we find out that some CA government officials had been tipped off during his administration that there were big scammers (not individuals who cheat the system but capitalist business owners) ripping off the state program but no one did nothing about it. The newspapers report that the FBI and Gov. Davis are the ones responsible for bringing this to li ...

1310 Tax breaks and WTO -- rank: 1000
This may be the one and only progressive thing the WTO has done. Of course Spotlight woud complain. "The United States has appealed a ruling by the World Trade Organization that condemed the $2.5 billion in tax breaks for US. companies with overseas subsidiaries as being illegal subsidies. According to the UPI, if the United States loses the appeal, "one outcome could be the loss of a naton's control over its own domestic tax statutes." (Spotlight 12-99) -- Marta Russell

Justin Schwartz - who must be a libertarian himself, could not be more wrong, to insinuate that Posner does not impose his belief system on cases. He has consistently ruled for business and the interest of business every opportunity he gets. Judges and lawyers who come from the opposite pole - have written excellent criticisms on Posner. These can be found in law journals. See for instance, Valparaiso University Law Review Vol. 24, Robin Paul Malloy (winter 1990). marta russell James Farmelant ...
