1280 Age discrimination in employment and earnings -- rank: 1000
Jeffrey, There was an article in the LA Times (7/11/98) "Wilson Vetoes Legislation Drafted to Protect Jobs of Older Workers." Whoever wrote that legislation could probably give you some resources. Quentin Kopp (I-San Francisco) was a major supporter of the bill. Marta Russell Fellows, Jeffrey wrote: > Does anyone know of any recent empirical work on this subject? > > Jeffrey L. 1281 Doe fund source?? -- rank: 1000
In a previous post, there was discussion about an organization in New York city called the Doe Fund which runs a program called "Ready, Willing, & Able." This organization takes homeless ex-drug addicts, "rehabilitates" them, and lends them to the city where they collect trash from street litter baskets and are apparently taking over work that used to be done by unionized sanitation workers. Also supposedly the Ready, Willing, & Able organization is supposed to pay a ...

1288 Hate crime -- rank: 1000
Did anybody happen to see this article below? It was sandwiched deeply into the Business Section of the NYTimes-NYReport? It's similarities to the gay hate crime case in Wyoming and racial based one in Texas but I guess because these nondisabled kids did not kill this disabled young man that justified the not-so-important location of the news item. Disturbing further is the lack of attention paid in the article to the similarities to the other situations. Marta Russell 8 Charged with Tormentin ...
