6245 [lbo-talk] feminist p*rn awards -- rank: 1000
<http://bit.ly/MpVJy> By Lux Alptraum, 5:30 PM on Mon Apr 27 2009, 3,988 views In one sense, as long as there is hot feminist p*rn out there, we're all winners. In another, more important way, these people actually have trophies from The Feminist P*rn Awards so they're the real winners. The 2009 Good For Her Feminist P*rn Award winners are: ...

Really, Carrol, what planet do you live on? The UAW is handed controlling interest in one auto company and a very large minority stake in another. And you don't think it presents interesting questions? You don't think the union - which ...

But is there anyone who's actually thought about this? The WSJ piece I just read said the gov plans to keep its GM stock in a trust, presumably delegating responsibility to "professional" managers. Dunno if they can get away with this, but it suggests the Obama admin is not interested in ...

So with the UAW about to control 55% of Chrylser, and the U.S. gov likely to take a majority interest in GM (with the UAW holding a large stake as well), this means the effective socialization, at least in potential and/or theory, of a large chunk of the U.S. auto sector. What does this mean? Does anyone know what to do with it? Or is this just lemon socialism on a very large scale? Has anyone thought about this?

6253 [lbo-talk] what passes for good news these days! -- rank: 1000
News Alert from The Wall Street Journal U.S. home prices continued their multiyear slide in February, according to the S&P/Case-Shiller home-price indexes, but they did stop their 16-month streak of record declines. "While the declines in residential real estate continued into February, we witnessed some deceleration in the rate of decline in some of the markets," said David M. Blitzer, chairman of S&P's index committee. Still, 10 of the 20 metro areas reported record year ...

6254 [lbo-talk] more FGT -- rank: 1000
<http://filthygorgeousthings.com/voyeur/lust-debauchette> When I sat down to begin my column, I was going to start with something else, but I realized that it would be disingenuous to dismiss my roots. Feminism led me to this, the whoring, the slutting, the quiet periods of careful consideration, because at its core, I consider feminism to be about varied perspectives, freedom, and choice. And while I prefer to keep my sex and my politics separate, it remains as the foundation to my ...

A little off topic for lbo-talk, but a new site about s*x "for artists, thinkers, sensualists, and fuckers" debuts today: F/ lthyGorgeousTh/ngs.
