41041 Final Program for Black Radical Congress (fwd) -- rank: 1000
I just got back from the University of Illinois-Chicago, where the Marxist Literary Group was (and still is) meeting, and where the Black Radical Congress is about to open. Latest word was that non-black people aren't welcome. So anyone planning to go should keep that in mind. Doug

41044 race & sex -- rank: 1000
How about this as a proof text for the race-sex nexus? From the New York Times story by Rick Bragg (June 17) on the three guys who killed a black man in Jasper Texas by dragging him around with a pickup truck until he disintegrated: "Relatives say Mr Brewer too learned hate in prison. Both he and Mr King joined the Confederate Knights of America, a loosly organized prison gang for white supremacists, although his lawyer, Bill Morian Jr, says Mr Brewer joined the gang for protection. 'If you ...

41049 bankruptcy & credit cards -- rank: 1000

Two days ago, the House voted to tighten things up sharply - to force all households with incomes above the national median into debt repayment plans (today that's only an option for those who want to take it) and to make credit card debt nondischargeable in bankruptcy. ...
