21166 [lbo-talk] exit poll change -- rank: 1000
Ok, so the early exit poll results were all wrong. So why did CNN's presentation of exit poll results for Ohio change radically - from a Kerry lead to a Bush lead - between 12:21 AM and 1:41 AM early Wednesday morning? The sample size reported had increased by a couple of hundred - was that enough to tip the balance? Bush to Seek Gay-Marriage Ban in New Term -Aide Sun Nov 7,12:28 PM ET By Randall Mikkelsen WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) will renew a quest in his second term for a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage as essential to a "hopeful and decent" society, his top political aide said on Sunday. Bush's call for a constitutional ban on gay marriages failed last year in Congress, but his position was seen as a key factor motivating Christian conservatives ...

21176 [lbo-talk] Zogby's post-mortem -- rank: 1000
Released: November 05, 2004 Amway vs. Outsourcing: How George Bush won Looking at exit polls, the most striking thing in all of them is the top issue: Moral values narrowly edged out the economy and terrorism, driving the votes of 22% of the electorate. Our final tracking poll did show an up-tick for moral values as the top issue, but it was still only ranked number one by a paltry 4% of respondents. In the week before the election, it had only been 2% and even among white evangelicals it only t ...
