There's also a matter of timing and context. There was plenty of time to criticize Ward Churchill before he became a cause celebre; after he did, the importance of that critique should have fallen pretty far down on the to-do list. Ditto Galloway - what's the point, other th ...

Net gains in a good year - like the roughly 2 million during the boom - would be the result of 35 million new jobs and 33 million jobs destroyed. The net losse ...

17680 [lbo-talk] Cramer's new show -- rank: 1000
We watched the new James Cramer show on CNBC last night - Mad Money. There's a segment in which callers name stocks and Cramer is required to comment on them and declare buy or sell. He does it at an incredibly manic pace - ringing cash registers, cueing onscreen bulls and bears (which roar and growl approrpriately), bouncing around like a madman, mopping his sweating brow with a handkerchief. Mania and capitalism. Where's Ted Winslow? Doug

The segment was about 5 mins long, with me as the anti-Greenspan character, and some idiot talk show host as the pro-Greenspan guy. You couldn't talk for more than 15 seconds without Cavuto interrupting. At the end, though, Cavuto said I did well and he agreed with what I had to say, which he acknowledged might worry me. Off camera, Cavuto's pretty friendl ...

There are many such people who write and edit the FT. Both influences show. > Wish someone would with moderation duties would te ...

This is too subtle, and too historically rooted. You're ignoring the demonic quality of Stalin and the poisonous inheritance from Lenin (and ultimately, from Marx). Clearly you've been away from the USA for too long. Doug
